Join the Columbia Regional Educator Network (CREN), for this introductory workshop that will explore the experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ students within the education system through local and state data. Together, we’ll discuss how to begin creating affirming, inclusive environments in classrooms & schools. This session will be a collaborative space that will offer a starting point for educators and admin around supporting LGBTQIA2S+ students.
Becoming an Identity Conscious Educator - An Exploration of Self

You will leave with concrete approaches to strengthen equity and inclusion in daily teaching.
Identity Conscious Classroom Practices

When educators and school leaders center identity in their practice, they create learning environments that are more responsive, inclusive, and affirming for all students. Ignoring the role of identity can unintentionally reinforce barriers and inequities in schools. In this interactive workshop participants will work through practical applications for strategies to infuse identity into their classroom practices
Cultivating Belonging: Curriculum Evaluation and Adaptation

Explore a structured process for examining curriculum through an equity and belonging lens. Participants will learn how to identify gaps, bias, and barriers in instructional materials and adapt lessons to better reflect and serve all students. You will leave with tools and strategies to thoughtfully evaluate and modify curriculum for greater relevance, access, and impact.
