When educators and school leaders center identity in their practice, they create learning environments that are more responsive, inclusive, and affirming for all students. Ignoring the role of identity can unintentionally reinforce barriers and inequities in schools. In this interactive workshop participants will work through practical applications for strategies to infuse identity into their classroom practices
Creating Inclusive Classrooms: Recognizing and Responding to Harm (A Bystander Training)

This interactive workshop is designed to deepen our collective ability to recognize and respond to harmful language, behaviors, and actions that impact LBGTQIA2S+ folks within our schools and classrooms. Come prepared to explore barriers to action, get creative on how to respond, and engage with other folks interested in creating communities that support and affirm LGBTQIA2S+ staff and students.
