
The TEACH Columbia Gorge GYO is a grant program that supports the 10 school districts in Sherman, Wheeler, Gilliam, Wasco, and Hood River counties. This grant works with schools districts and colleges & universities to develop pathways that support educators on restricted and emergency licenses, classified staff, and community members in obtaining teaching licensure and/or endorsements.

Who is eligible for GYO funding?
Anyone currently employed and/or connected to a school and/or school district in Sherman, Wheeler, Gilliam, Wasco, and Hood River counties. This grant supports school districts in rural communities to fill high need positions.

What supports are offered through GYO?

Tuition support (scholarships, tuition reimbursement and/or stipends)

Staff to coach enrollees with applying to teacher preparation programs, practicums, and financial aid

Professional learning opportunities and connection events for licensure candidates, new educators, and mentors*

Mentoring and job-embedded support for the first years of teaching*

EdTPA and licensure test prep support
*Supports continue following completion of degree, licensure, and/or endorsement
